We'd love to say that we can create or rejuvenate perfect brands the first time every time. But the truth is, it just doesn't happen that way. Branding is a science of constant evolution – just ask Nike, Apple, IBM or any other successful company, large or small. Each of these companies has changed its messaging, logos, imagery, products and services dozens of times, and continues to update them on a ongoing basis. Today, all brands are living breathing things…they cannot remain static.
The Webconnect India Process: A blueprint for successful marketing
We learned long ago that nothing can be built on faulty premises. That's why most template websites, logos, and online and offline media don't impress your customers. Worse yet, they may even hurt your brand's image. They don't drive sales, they drive away sales.
The first step in the brand-building process should be a discovery meeting. This is where your current brand is explored, probed, pondered and debated – in an open forum with your experts and ours all working toward a common goal. Some of the items we discuss in this initial stage of brand (re)design and rejuvenation are:
After our Discovery meeting (Or Online Creative Brief for smaller projects) we will research your market, your competitors, your online and offline collateral, and provide continual marketing direction and support. We deliver our which is a compilation of all core branding elements and marketing goals.
Ready to start the designs? Not yet!
Even the most experienced designers need direction – they are not businesspeople following a set of defined guidelines, but creative individuals who need to be pointed in the right direction before they can let their ideas flow. This is why our creative staff will spend some solid time brainstorming strategies and providing direction for each different medium we develop, whether it's a brochure, a new website, an online presentation or even a logo. An impressive design only works if it is reflective of your brand and your goals: painting a pretty picture without a solid business/marketing foundation is not going to increase your sales.
It is after the discovery meeting that work on our visual direction begins. Using agreed-upon concepts, we pitch visual ideas and supporting content that coincide with the message you want to convey. We keep doing this until one idea is approved for further development – there's no sense wasting your time and money chasing down ideas that are not on target. Once a concept has been approved, it goes to our design team. The team then knows exactly what they're striving for and can focus their creative talents on the best way to visually accomplish the chosen objective.
Customers seldom see our first design concept, which includes consideration of the minutes of details – the weight of a font or header, the graphic shadowing used, the gradient on an image. Our creative staff works together to throw around ideas and collaborate until we all agree that a concept is extraordinary and is ready for the customer to see.
Revisions and approvals of the design plan can be made online via our job management system. We normally hold a conference call or online meeting to discuss revisions in detail, and even explain why certain designs or graphic techniques were used and how we think they may affect certain customers' behaviour. Once we are all on the same page, revisions are processed in a matter of days as we move toward final approval.
When we speak of the development process, we are usually referring to Web or application development. Approved offline media – brochures, direct mail pieces, etc. – are either imaged by us or pre-pressed in-house and sent to a printer of choice. Our Web development process follows a long chain of tried-and-true steps that assure quality results. Most websites that we design are built within our custom Drupal/Joomla content management system, which allows authorized users to easily make edits and updates. Everything we do is fully XHTML compliant and tested in the latest browsers. Before being released, all online media development is subject to both internal evaluation and customer review. Since this is Web development, and we are only human, bugs and errors are sometimes unavoidable – but we fix them as quickly as we can, and we have a SIX-MONTH assurance policy!
These days, both online and offline media often require continual updating, altering and optimizing. Your brand is no different; it must stay ahead of the pack, maintaining an impressive, targeted image. That is why Webconnect India offers ongoing support for all our work. Of course, when you need us to fix mistakes or errors that we deem to be ours – things we should have caught in-house – you will not be billed. Our support packages are designed to enable you to update your brand on an as-needed basis and address small, but important,
